Yoga Postures For A Solid & Flexible Spine
There is this idiom that you are only young till your spine is flexible. In that situation, what should be done daily to keep our spine as solid, adaptable & sound?
Here are a few yoga postures that will help you enhance & keep up the solid movement, adaptability & quality of the spine.
There are 5 important moves that the spine makes. Those moves are:
- Flexion - adjusts the spine forward
- Extension - adjusts the spine back
- Rotation - twists the spine
- Side bending or Lateral flexion of the spine
- Axial extension - decompresses & vertically lengthens the spine
In a yoga class mostly all these 5 moves are practiced. Particularly unloading the spine through axial extension is the thing that makes feel better.
In our everyday life we have a tendency to neglect to take our spine through its full scope of movements, the spine therefore gets stiffer & loses its smoothness.
A hard or rigid or mis-aligned spine likewise affects the zones more than the spine.
Osteopaths & Chiropractors claim the well-being of the spine affects the well-being of your organs as there are nerve endings or fascia that joins everything together. This would then clarify the claim that you are only young till your spine is flexible.
Yoga postures for a sound spine:
Perform these stances regularly to at least maintain & in time expand the smoothness, adaptability, quality & well-being of your spine.
Simple Seated Twist or Marichyasana
Standing Side Bend or Triangle pose
Upward Salute Pose
Downward Facing Dog Pose
