But, these commercial fried foods have a lot of negative effects on the body if consumed regularly or in large quantities.
When foods are oil fried. They lose water and absorb fat which increases calories. Additionally, before frying, the foods are coated with batter or flour. So, compared to non-fried foods, fried ones increase your calorie intake.
Hydrogenation of unsaturated fats forms trans fats. Manufactures use these in foods to increase their shelf life. These fats are also formed when oil if heated to very high temperatures. In restaurants and other outlets, the same oil is reused for frying and this increases the trans fat content every time.
These foods contribute to High BP, reduce your good cholesterol levels and cause obesity. These factors are major contributors for heart diseases. Study shows that people who consume fried foods regularly are at a higher risk of heart attacks.
Another heath issue being diabetes. Fried foods increase your risk of Type 2 diabetes as it increases your body’s resistance to insulin. Also, high calorie intake makes your body inclined towards obesity and belly fat.
Switch to healthier oils like coconut and olive oils as they decrease the health risks to a certain extent. Another option would be to consider alternate frying options like ovens or air fryers where oil used is little on none.
