Treating metrorrhagia with homoeopathy
Also known as a sudden bleeding or spotting, metrorrhagia is a disease that needs to be tackled as soon as the first symptoms appear. This pathology can occur in women of all ages from puberty to menopause. Its causes are various and are sometimes tough to identify without using advanced clinical examinations. Among the most common causes, one can include hormonal disparity and, more specifically, a increased production of oestrogen that leads to thickening of the endometrium. The disease can also occur following an “anovulatory” cycle. This last case results from a very low or imaginary level of progesterone.
Symptoms of metrorrhagia
Whatever its cause, metrorrhagia is distinguished by an abnormal blood flow. On the one hand, this flow can happen during menstruation, in which case it is inclined to last for unusually long periods of time. It should be noted that bleeding that lasts for more than seven days is an indication of functional metrorrhagia. Moreover, although this is an unusual occurrence, one may observe the presence of distorted amount of blood clots. On the other hand, sudden bleeding may occur outside the menstruation period, in which case it is referred to as “intermenstrual bleeding.” In this case, the quantity of blood that flows is often unimportant and the pathology is mainly due to an endocrine imparity. The episode may just as well occur before ovulation as during the post-ovulatory period.
At puberty and during adolescence, functional metrorrhagia is caused by problems associated to the beginning of the menstrual cycle and is distinguished by profuse blood flow that can lead to anemia if the patient is not immediately taken care of. Although this disruption will stop over time, it comprises a peril to the young girl’s health. Irrespective of the patient’s age, the presence of a tumor like follicular cysts can lead to functional metrorrhagia, which indicates itself by blood flow occurring between two menstrual cycles.
