Top 10 reasons to cleanse with ghee
Traditionally speaking monsoon season is the best time for ayurvedic treatments because during this time it is seen that the body is at its all receptive status. It is all because during summer because of the harsh rays of the sun it absorbs from the nature. The same thing happens on the human body too. It is dehydrated and the digestive status of our body is completely low and so the toxic settlement in the system is found to be higher, thereby the immunity is also lower. Because of this low immunity people are usually susceptible to various infectious diseases or epidemics that happen during monsoon. It could be dengue, chikun guinea, H1N1 and so on.
Ayurveda actually treats these conditions by detoxifying the systems, enhancing teh digestive capacity and then rejuvenating the body. In detoxification there are various therapies in ayurveda like the panchakarma therapy. It can include the vamanam, virechanam, nasyam, vasthikarmam and the rakthamokshanam. Based on the advice of the doctor the karmas are performed and the body is detoxified, further which the digestion has to be improved. During this phase it is advised to take easily digestible food in the form of rice porridge or there is a specialised medicated porridge that is available during this season that is called the karkidaka kanji. This is also advised to improve the digestion and keep the stomach or the body at that level detoxified. After enhancing the digestive capacity the next step is to rejuvenate the body.
If the person is suffering from any particular illness then that curative therapy can be adopted. If not rejuvenating therapy like abyandham svedhanam, navarakizhi etc are adopted to improve the condition and keep the person free of diseases for the coming next few months. All these treatments are followed for over 5000 years in our country and now even foreigners are coming to our places in enquiry and understanding the unique method of prevention of ayurveda during monsoon.
