“Feeling tired” is a phrase we come across almost daily in our lives. Fatigue is the chronic and persistent tiredness, both physical and mental. The energy levels are quite low and the person does not feel like doing any work, which directly affects the productivity. Unhealthy diet and a sedentary lifestyle are the leading causes of this. Here are a few tips that can help you keep fatigue away and feel more energetic:
Eat a healthy diet:
Eating an unbalanced diet is the leading cause. Eating unhealthy fats, oils, deep fried food further deteriorate the quality of heart and mind and cause even more tiredness. If you want to combat it, the first changes should be made in your eating habits. Eat more balanced diet with fruits and vegetables and focus on all minerals like vitamins, minerals, fibers etc and not just on proteins and carbs. Also, do not overeat.
Sitting for long hours either at work or otherwise also causes you to tire very soon. The body gradually loses its stamina if you do not exercise enough. It is also hard for the body to lose harmful substances and detoxify itself when you spend your days sitting. You need not go to a gym necessarily, just a jog, or brisk walk, or any activity like cycling or swimming that makes you exert yourself is enough. Follow this and you will see your fatigue disappear sooner than thought.
Sleep is very important for proper functioning of the body as it provides the much needed mental and physical rest to the body. Sleeping more or less than what the body requires has a very negative impact on overall health and mental activity. If you want to get rid of mental or physical inertia or tiredness, start making sleep as your top priority. Sleep 6-8 hours per night, and if that is not possible, try biphasic or polyphasic sleep patterns, but do not deny your body and mind the rest they require.
Keep yourself hydrated:
Water can do wonders for the body, and the lack of it causes physical as well as mental impairment. It also decreases your alertness and concentration and decreases the overall efficiency of the body. Keep your water levels up to the mark to get rid of tiredness.
Follow a routine:
It may be hard for some people to follow a similar routine daily due to jobs and other limitations, but try to be as close to your routine as possible. And routine implies a broad variety of things. By keeping in routine, you will have required amount of sleep, will not skip any meal, will have a healthy breakfast, will get time to exercise etc. This will make you fresher throughout the day and kill fatigue.
