How Do You Practice Pranayama?
Regular pranayama practice helps in internal healing of the body. Breathing exercises promote healthy healing and relieve stress and depression. Start your day with these exercises and see how it benefits you:
Inhale deeply and exhale forcefully, completely. This exercise improves blood circulation, concentration and eases asthma.
In this practice, you exhale with all your force such that your stomach pushes inside. It helps with indigestion, acidity and constipation. Also, it aids in losing belly fat.
Exhale completely and touch your chin to your chest. Pull your stomach in, upwards and hold your breath for 15 seconds. Bahya is good for gastric problems and reproductive organs.
Close one nostril with the thumb and breathe in. Now, close the nostril with the index and middle finger, exhale through the other nostril. Great breathing exercise for the heart and to bring down stress levels.
Place both your index fingers on your forehead and with the rest of your fingers cover your eyes. Inhale deeply and while exhaling, keep your mouth closed and say ‘om’ as you breathe out. This exercise is great to relieve anger and frustration as it increases positive energy in the body.
Perfect for high BP in this exercise you just sit and breathe deep. Inhale and as you exhale chant ‘ommmm’.
A form of relaxation for the mind you breathe keeping your eyes closed focusing your mind only on your breathing. It helps build concentration and focus.
Practice these on an empty stomach for around 40 minutes seated in fresh air every morning.
