Abortion is the closing of reproduction or fertility by removal of an embryo or fetus before it can endure outside the uterus. An abortion that occurs without intrusion is known as a miscarriage or spontaneous abortion. About 10 to 20 % of known pregnancies terminate in miscarriages. But the exact figure is likely higher because many miscarriages happen so early in pregnancy that a woman doesn't realise that she's pregnant.

Abortion is the spontaneous loss of fertility before the 20th week. When there is vaginal bleeding in the first 20 weeks of pregnancy, it is accompanied by abdominal pains. This condition is called a threatened abortion or missed abortion which can direct to miscarriage and can be disastrous at times. Taking this into account, an individual should also acknowledge the prospect of making use of homoeopathic treatment to restrict abortion. Any pregnancy that creates a threat to well-being should be reviewed as soon as possible.

Who Is at Risk for a Threatened Abortion?

The exact cause is uncertain but there are certain factors that may increase the risk of having one. These are:

  • Certain medications or chemicals

  • A bacterial infection when expecting a baby

  • Viral infection when expecting a baby

  • Previous miscarriages

  • Abdominal trauma

  • Age (over age 35)

  • Uterine or cervical problems

  • Invasive prenatal tests

  • Smoking, alcohol and illicit drugs

  • Weight

Symptoms of Abortion

The visible signs and symptoms of a miscarriage differ according to the duration of pregnancy:

  • At up to six weeks, only small blood coagulation may be present, perhaps followed by moderate cramping or period pain.

  • At 6 to 13 weeks a lump will appear around the embryo or fetus, and the placenta, with many other clots of up to 5 cm in dimension being suspended before a completed miscarriage. The process may take some hours or be on and off for a few days. Signs differ extensively and can include vomiting and loosened bowels, possibly due to physical ache.

  • At over 13 weeks the fetus may be easily moved from the womb. However, the placenta is more inclined to be fully or partially retained in the uterus, ending in an incomplete abortion. The physical indications of bleeding, cramping and pain can be related to an early miscarriage, but sometimes more critical and labour-like.

Causes of Abortion

Abnormal genes or chromosomes-

Most miscarriages occur because the fetus isn't developing normally. About 50% of miscarriages are associated with extra or missing chromosomes. Most often, chromosome problems result from errors that occur by chance as the embryo divides and grows — not problems inherited from the parents.

Chromosomal abnormalities might lead to:

  • Blighted ovum: A blighted ovum occurs when no embryo forms.

  • Intrauterine fetal demise: In this situation, an embryo forms but stops developing and dies before any symptoms of pregnancy loss occur.

  • Molar pregnancy and partial molar pregnancy: With a molar pregnancy, both sets of chromosomes come from the father. A molar pregnancy is associated with abnormal growth of the placenta; there is usually no fetal development. A partial molar pregnancy occurs when the mother's chromosomes remain, but the father provides two sets of chromosomes. A partial molar pregnancy is usually associated with abnormalities of the placenta and an abnormal fetus. Molar and partial molar pregnancies are not viable pregnancies. Molar and partial molar pregnancies can sometimes be associated with cancerous changes of the placenta.

Maternal health conditions-

In a few cases, a mother's health condition might lead to miscarriage. Examples include:

  • Uncontrolled diabetes

  • Infections

  • Hormonal problems

  • Uterus or cervix problems

  • Thyroid disease

3. Prevent miscarriage: The department of homoeopathy has a range of alternatives when it comes to medication which can be used for this. There is a medicine which is known by the name Secale. It is prescribed quite extensively for women who happen to be anaemic and not as robust as they should be, according to the percentage for a woman who is awaiting a baby. Secale is also used in the succeeding stages of the pregnancy. The purpose of this is the fact that it can lessen the uncertainty of a miscarriage when the muscular tissue is formed to a reasonably advanced extent.
