The most consumed beverage in the world after water is considered to be Tea. Green tea is the healthiest beverage on the Earth. It has the powerful effects on the body as it is loaded with antioxidants and nutrients. However 78% of the black tea is consumed worldwide and only about 20% is green tea.

Green tea is one of the less processed types of tea and is made from un-oxidized leaves and therefore contains one of the most antioxidants and beneficial polyphenols.

Green tea was used as a medicine in traditional Chinese and Indian. It was used to control bleeding and heal wounds, improve heart and mental health, aid digestion and regulate body temperature. According to recent studies, green tea have positive effects on everything from weight loss to liver disorders, diabetes-II or even the alzheimer's disease.

Our metabolism is increased by Green tea. Fat Oxidation levels and the rate at which your body turns food into calories are intensified by the polyphenol found in green tea. Green tea regulates glucose levels slowing the rise of blood sugar after eating which can prevent high insulin spikes and resulting fat storage.

Heart disease:

Green tea works on the lining of blood vessels which help them stay relaxed and able to withstand changes in blood pressure. the formation of clots are also protected which is the main cause of heart attack

Green tea minimizes bad cholesterol in our blood and improves the ratio of good cholesterol to bad cholesterol.

Green tea compounds can make you smarter  improve brain function. The key active ingredient in green tea caffeine  is a known stimulant. It doesn’t cause the jittery effects associated with too much caffeine.

An amino acid  known as Theanine is naturally found in tea leaves. This is the  substance that is believed to provide the relaxing and tranquilizing effect upon consumption of green tea.

Green tea can also help reducing the signs of aging and wrinkles due to its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities.  It has proved to reduce the sun burns in both animal and human studies applied topically.

The thiamine in green tea produces a calming effect. The decaffeinated green tea proves to be a perfect substitute for coffee, although, to feel that magnitude of effect might have to drink 5- 6 cups of it.

Cancer
Antioxidants in green tea might lower the risk of various types of cancers. Cancer is caused by uncontrolled growth of unwanted cells. It is well known that oxidation damage increases the development of cancer and on the conrtrary, antioxidants in green tea can have a protective effect.
