Ayurvedic Approaches To Diminish Anxiety
Ayurveda signifies proper knowledge in Sanskrit. It is a traditional pharmaceutical from Ancient India. Ayurveda is the sister of Yoga.
The theory in Ayurveda is that there are 3 essential substances in the body which are called doshas & they are vata, pitta & kapha. At any minute these doshas can be in a condition of irritation which can make physical & emotional well-being unsettled. The treatment of Ayurveda is done to calm these doshas.
In mental well-being, usually vata disturbance is marked by uneasiness, pitta disturbance is marked by anger & kapha disturbance is marked by depression.

Cold bothers vata, warmth calms it. Drink warm milk with saffron & honey. Bath with warm water. Keep a hot water bottle on your feet. These are all useful things to do around night time before going to bed, with the goal that vata disturbance does not keep you awake during the night as it has a tendency to do so.
Vata is dry & vaporous. You may notice yourself up & exited& windy. Oil encourages tie you back to earth. Apply sesame or olive oil on your back - over your kidneys & on your feet – put pressure on the center of the feet. It is helpful in calming a fit of anxiety. You can likewise massage your head or your forehead & temple to settle the monkey mind. You can massage your full body before bathing which is called as Abhyanga & massage your feet, back & head before bed.
Taking time every day to inhale & exhale which is known as Yogic breathing or Pranayama helps in settling your nervous system & that is what we should do. There are various yogic breathings; however the best for anxiety is alternate nostril breathing or Nadi Shodhan. This includes the left & right brain settling the exacerbation & smoothing them into a state of harmony. Meditation is very beneficial after some conscious breathing.
. Eat a vata calming diet:
Avoid caffeine, sugar, carbonation, raw, frozen or cold foods when you are trying to calm the vata dosha. Vata likes sour, salt, sweet, warm & oil. Warm soups & sweet fruits are good for you. A solid breakfast like oats are useful for settling anxiety. Drink warm water rather than ice water.
5. Do yoga:
Yoga poses like Forward bend settles anxiety or tension.
Downward facing dog are also beneficial to pacify vata. Hold the postures as longer as you can.
Follow a schedule:
Timely eating, meditating & exercising can have unlimited benefits on your well-being. Wake up & go to bed at a fixed time daily. In case you change the routine, you will feel the difference in your general well-being & mood.
