What is Vascular disease?
Vascular disease is a ‘systemic disease’, about half of the patients with coronary artery have cerebrovascular disease. About a third of the patients with Coronary artery disease have PERIPHERAL ARTERIAL DISEASE.
Coronary artery Disease- blocks or narrowing of the arteries of the heart which may ultimately lead to Heart Attack.
Peripheral arterial disease- narrowing or blocks in the arteries of the limbs or elsewhere other than the heart.
If the arteries of the limbs are narrowed or blocked - deficiency of blood supply to the leg results pain in the leg / legs on walking or gangrene i,e blackening of the toe / toes / any part of the foot
