Ayurveda, in Sanskrit means “science of life” and is a complete therapeutic system which aims in balancing the body and mind and is often described as a holistic science of health and happiness.

Ayurvedic Lifestyle

The principles of Ayurveda suggest that A daily routine is absolutely necessary to bring radical change in body, mind, and consciousness and to experience the benefits of Ayurveda.

According to Ayurveda, well being is reliant on the harmony between the doshas. To ensure them or to discover them, Ayurveda has an entire pile of medications: arrangements from restorative plants, rub with oil, animating considerations and detoxifiers. It likewise advocates rejuvenation, healing, rehearsing yoga and reflection routinely and prescribes an adjusted eating regimen, ideally vegan.

Ayurveda As A System For Healing

Ayurveda is one of the world's oldest holistic healing systems based on the belief that health and well-being depend on a delicate balance between the mind, body, and spirit with the main goal to promote good health, not fight disease. But treatments may be geared toward specific health problems.

Panchakarma - the ultimate in Mind-Body Healing & Detoxification is one of the most effective healing methods in Ayurveda. It removes the excess doshas and correct imbalances in them as well as eliminate the harmful substance out of your system through the body’s own organs and channels of elimination

Panchakarma purifies the tissues at a very deep level.

It is a very pleasurable experience that is tailored to individual needs and may involve:

  • Daily warm oil massage (abhyanga)

  • Nasal administrations (nasya)

  • Other special treatments (see treatments below)

Ayurvedic Rejuvenation for Happiness

Rejuvenation Therapy (Rasayana Chikitsa) in Ayurveda helps in conditioning the skin and fortifying body tissues in order to encourage life span due to the optimisation of the 'Ojas' (essential imperativeness) and the 'Sattva' (mental clarity).

This therapy makes you feel young, light and energetic, improves skin condition and glow, improves sleep quality, memory and concentration, clears the voice, improves the capacities of the sense organs and sexual organs. It increases the body’s immunity to resist any common diseases and last but not least, it improves your body’s strength and brings calmness to the mind.

Rejuvenation can be taken in the form of food, lifestyle and herbal supplements. It can be utilized regularly to enhance and support one's wellbeing and acquire the life-advancing advantages of rejuvenation. The treatments are designed to achieve mental tranquillity and improve one’s concentration beyond the physical being.

Ayurvedic Diet Regimen For Wellness

Even in the very early ages, it was known to man that the food one consumes has a direct impact not just on physical health, but also on mental disposition. In yoga and Ayurveda too, the topic of food and diet has not been overlooked. Foods that supplement the practice of Ayurveda and are very light on the body as well as mind are termed as sattvic foods in the Ayurveda.

Though there is not any mention of a strict ayurvedic diet, and people need a different types of nutrition at different ages for a proper balance between their body and mind, there are some broad guidelines laid down in light of the standards of Ayurvedic medication by experts to aid the individual’s well being and happiness by adjusting various kinds of vitality inside your body.

The Ayurveda experts all across the world recommend following an ayurvedic diet and ayurvedic eating rules. It provides the guidelines for when you eat, what you eat, and how much you eat to boost your health and maintain a balance between the body and mind. Ayurvedic food includes mainly whole food like fruits, vegetables (except onion and garlic), grains, legumes and other naturally harvested items like honey and herbs. It focuses on maximising packed or processed food and focusing on eating food packed with rich fibers and vitamins.

Ayurvedic Eating Rules

Along with what you eat, it is also important to understand and learn how you should eat for healthy digestion and wellness of the body. The digestive problems and imbalances that arise due to the reckless dietary and lifestyle choices can be taken care of if one eats according to the rules and guidelines laid down by the Ayurveda experts.

These rules are nothing but simple eating practises that we neglect in our day to day lifestyle. Once you start practising these steps, both the body and mind will function better and balance the toxicity out of your body.

Saying No To Meat

Consumption of meat, fish, and even eggs is not allowed in an ayurvedic diet. Though meat is a great source of protein, it also contains many other toxic substances like uric acid besides a high amount of cholesterol. Ayurveda recommends a pure vegetarian diet and recommends consumption of nuts, lentils, leafy green products and dairy products for daily protein needs.

Stressing On Seasonal Food

In the long evolutionary process, our body has learned to depend on seasonally available food for nutrition. Ayurveda recommends the same. It focuses on eating food according to the season and surroundings, like the ones with warm nature such as jaggery should be consumed more in winters and the ones with cold, in summers.

No More Toxins And Chemicals

For a healthy and happy living, it is imperative to refrain from the use of chemicals and other intoxicants. Ayurveda prohibits the consumption of alcohol, tobacco and other stimulating agents. Along with these, almost all packaged items are loaded with toxic preservatives and chemicals which should be avoided.

Fasting At Regular Intervals

Fasting is a very effective way to give your body a break and drain out the toxins out of your system. Ayurveda advises you to fast at least once a month for balancing the metabolism in your body. Do not consume anything other than water or fruit juices during this time.

In addition to the above-mentioned points, try to eat slowly at regular intervals and with proper food combinations. These practices, when implemented, will lead to physical as well as mental well being.
