Ayurveda-How to get relief from hyperacidity
Hyperacidity or what we call as amlapitta in Ayurveda. It is usually presented in conditions like heart burn or gas formation in the stomach what we call as flatulence or in some conditions heaviness in the chest or in the abdomen. There are both kind of presentation. There can be the acute as well as the chronic kind of presentations. So when people come with the acute, the condition needs to be managed in a different way and when it is chronic it needs to be managed in a different way. In acute Hyperacidity, or the agni or the pitta dosha that is in imbalance.so the digestive fire is in under a chaos. So we need to correct it, first is the heavy to be digested foo is to be avoided.
So milk and milk products is to be avoided. So avoid milk in coffee and tea. Main thing is split the meals and take. So the 3 course meals is to be split and taken maybe upto 5 or 6 times meals. So it is not heavy on digestion and the constant supply of meals keeps the stomach light. Tender coconut water helps in easing the condition. There are other modalities like medicines like the single choornas or the ashtimadhu choornas or the licorice. That with the honey gives relief in case of acidity. Green coriander leaves, 5 to 10 ml of Green coriander leaves juice gives instant relief in case of hyperacidity. There are or conditions where you can advise amla juice or gooseberry juice.
But never advise on empty stomach. So it can be taken after food, diluted with water. That also gives instant relief in case of hyperacidity. These are the tips to be followed in case of acute hyperacidity. But this is not the case of chronic hyperacidity. Other modalities like medicines has to be incorporated to give the person a long relief in these conditions because it affects the basic metabolism.
